The University of Ottawa Students’ Union (UOSU) is a non-profit based on the campus, led by students to advocate on the behalf of Undergraduate students on the University of Ottawa campus.

You might not know what a union is so allow us to explain, a union is a group of people who pool their resources to get more power and leverage. Our union has over 35,000 members which is every single undergraduate student at uOttawa. As a single group, we work towards the same goals and trying to achieve positive change for that group. In this instant, UOSU works to ensure its student members at uOttawa receive more rights, more power, more resources and have a larger voice.

If you want to know if you’re a member, simply answer this question: Are you studying an Undergraduate program at the University of Ottawa full-time or part-time? If you answered yes, then you are a member of UOSU!

The Union works a little differently than a regular organization, our members can participate in how the Union is run. Each year, we hold General Elections (winter term) and By-Election to elect our Executive Committee and Board of Directors. Members are welcome to participate in these processes by voting, nominating or volunteering!

Your elected student representatives meet with decision makers at uOttawa to push for positive changes for our student members. But our Union does even more! We also have over 100 employees that work to offer 15 students services, we have the PIVIK General Store, provide resources to over 300+ student clubs on campus, run 101 Week and offer hundreds of free and fun events!
